Jim Tarran’s Spring break in Italy is short enough to take as a long weekend, long enough to re-energise, re-inspire and to get your motors running again, ready to really begin the year.

A beautiful yoga venue in two traditional converted villas in the midst of the Sabina Mountains and near its medieval walled villages, this centre offers many traditional yoga courses and also hosts long weekends of yoga during the winter months. There is both an outdoor yoga platform and an indoor yoga studio.

The residences are beautifully restored, situated on a hill amidst undulating farmland and forests. The location is perfect; from here you can walk in the hills, explore the countryside by bicycle or just lounge in the gardens, taking in the fantastic view of hillside olive groves and fruit trees, spectacular evening sunsets, and a large field in the valley below.

The setting is calm and rustic and an ideal place for spiritual practice. A natural spring supplies the property with abundant fresh water. There is also a small pond and a kitchen garden with a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs. Covered areas in the grounds have been created for resting, reading and meditation. Both the houses and grounds are very private and peaceful as well as easily accessible.

As well as the fantastic outdoor yoga platform, there is a purpose-built yoga studio. This space is suitable for up to 16 yoga students and is also ideal for tai chi, reiki, meditation or chanting. The outdoor yoga platform is fantastic with wonderful views down the valley.

There is a massage room with a range of treatments and massages. Prices are similar to those in the UK.

Vegetarian meals (and vegan if required and ordered in advance) are prepared to suit each group. A light snack and tea will be available before the morning yoga class. Lunch will be served following the class and dinner will be served each evening. There are a variety of dishes, mainly Italian, some Indian-inspired. There is also an outdoor pizza oven, and meals can be enjoyed in the open air even during the winter months. The food in fact is outstanding much homegrown veg and traditional Italian country cooking.
