Vajrasati News - Jan 2011

Happy New Year to all our regular readers,
and welcome to those of you who have just subscribed to Vajrasati News.
We have two feature pieces this month for you to read at your leisure. The first is part two of last month's piece about Patanjali's Raja Yoga by the school's founder and chief content writer Jim Tarran . It is a must read for any one who is vaguely interested in what philosophies lie behind yoga's emphasis on internal awareness and its non-competitive ethos.
The second is a piece by Charlotte Watts on Mind, Mood and Emotional Health Through Yoga. Charlotte has a workshop coming up at the Brighton Natural Health Centre on January 29th
All our teachers run to their own schedules so please contact teachers individually through our contact form to find out when classes resume after the festive break.
Please note that Jim Tarran's scheduled Yoga day, at 'Sparkbox' Hoxton Square on January 9th, has now been moved to a lovely light yoga studio between Shoreditch and Islington, for more info visit our full days in our events section where you can also find a whole host of other events coming up in 2011.
Now is a brilliant time to book our staggeringly good trip to world renowned 'Yoga Magic' near Anjuna (Goa) this February. In Alistair Sawday's top ten destinations in India, he describes this venue as 'a little piece of paradise'! It's also one of the stars in Taschen's excellent coffee table book 'Great Yoga Retreats' (you can leaf through it online).
This will be the third time that Jim Tarran (founder Vajrasati school) will be teaching at this venue, whose students have made comments like...

Sophie and Jamie - 06/07/2010
We were lucky enough to join Jim earlier this year in Goa Yoga in Paradise! You look at the photos, it is even more dreamy in real life... As a couple travelling to Goa for the first time, you can't get more romantic. The yoga was amazing, for us both to get out of bed at 7am to join the morning class is a testament in itself. Jim has a unique way of creating the 'perfect space' for each class, however many of us and whatever the level of ability or state of mind....

S B - 16/02/2010
I came home rejuvenated and full of energy. Suddenly I could deal with anything life threw at me! And what was great was that the effect lasted....I'd really recommend this to anyone - whatever your age or previous experience, wherever you are at in your life, you will have a wonderful time.

Finally there is an extension on the deadline for applications for the next Vajrasati teacher training course in the Spring of 2011, so that now applications need to be in by January 31st

Warm regards and a Happy New Year!

The whole of science, and one is tempted to think the whole of the life of any thinking man, is trying to come to terms with the relationship between yourself and the natural world. Why are you here, and how do you fit in, and what's it all about.
